How to Unclog Shower Head Holes and Increase Water Pressure

If you’ve noticed decreased water pressure from your shower head, it’s likely due to limescale buildup blocking the water holes. This common issue can be easily resolved with a few DIY techniques to clean and restore optimal water flow.

Cleaning a Fixed Shower Head:

  1. Prepare Vinegar Solution:
    • Fill a plastic bag halfway with vinegar.
  2. Soak the Shower Head:
    • Place the shower head in the plastic bag filled with vinegar.
    • Secure the bag around the shower head using a tie or rubber band.
  3. Let it Soak Overnight:
    • Allow the shower head to soak in the vinegar overnight. This will dissolve mineral deposits clogging the holes.
  4. Scrub and Rinse:
    • The next morning, remove the bag and scrub the shower head with an old toothbrush to dislodge any remaining deposits.
    • Run water through the shower head for a few minutes to flush out loosened debris.
