To revive and deeply clean light-colored carpets
You will need:
1 tablespoon baking soda 1/3 cup vinegar 1 teaspoon liquid soap 1.5 cups boiling water
Procedure:
Gently mix all the ingredients and pour them into a bottle.
Shake the mixture well.
Spray evenly on the carpet before it cools.
Leave it to act for a few minutes and then clean with a brush: also perfect for stains on the carpet, they will disappear.
Baking soda and detergent remove dirt and stains, while vinegar brightens colors.
Universal household substitute for shop chemicals
Mix 3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 tablespoons dish soap, 5 drops essential oil, 2 tablespoons fabric softener and 4 quarts warm water.
Mix this mixture well and use it in place of commercial products.
I liked it for cleaning even very damaged carpets.
If you have an expensive carpet with bright colors, test this mixture on a small area first and let it sit for a while.
Your carpet will no longer smell – even if you have a pet in the house.
Simply sprinkle some edible baking soda on the carpet before vacuuming, mixed with a few drops of any essential oil you like.
If you use tea tree oil, you will disinfect the carpet, eliminating mold, mites and bacteria.
Let the bicarbonate act for a few minutes and then vacuum well.
If you do this regularly, you won’t need an air freshener, it will perfume the whole room!
If you want to brighten up the colors of the carpet, I advise you to wipe it with water and normal vinegar.
Below are some tips on how to clean different types of carpet stains:
Blood stains are best removed by dabbing with a damp cloth and a light solution of ammonia and cold water.
Ink stains: immediately place a cloth soaked in hot milk on the stain, leave to act and then clean thoroughly.
Green vegetable stains such as spinach, lettuce and other green vegetables: just rub with a potato cut in half and then clean with shaving gel.
Glue stains are best removed with acetone, but you need to do a preliminary test to see if it doesn’t discolor the carpet.
Water and vinegar are great for egg stains.
Pour a little mineral water on the coffee stains, leave it to act for a while and then dab. If there is still a stain, clean with alcohol.
Chocolate stains
or they are better removed with this solution: mix an egg yolk, apply to the stain and leave to act for at least a few minutes. Then clean with warm water.
For wax stains: place a sheet of paper towel over the stain and run the iron over it. Repeat until all the wax is absorbed by the paper
