Amber apple jam according to grandma’s recipe “we can’t get enough of it in winter”!

Preparation:

  1. I always take firm apples for this jam, then the pieces turn out dense.
  2. In a saucepan, mix water with soda.
  3. We cut the apples with a vegetable slicer or into small pieces with a knife.
  4. Pour the apples into water with soda and leave for 1 hour. This stage will allow the apple pieces to retain their shape during cooking .
  5. For the syrup, mix sugar, lemon juice and water, cook after boiling for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the apple slices from the water and soda, let them drain and pour them into a clean pan, pour in hot syrup, cover the pan with a lid and leave in the room overnight.
  7. In the morning, put the pan on the stove, after boiling, cook for 5 minutes and leave open for 8 hours.
  8. Cook again for 5 minutes after boiling, cool for 8 hours and cook for 5 minutes the last time.
  9. Pour the jam into sterilized jars, screw on the lids, turn over and leave to cool.

We store it in the basement or pantry.

My family really loves this jam with pancakes, pancakes and pancakes, I often make pies and donuts with this filling.

Bon appetit!
