GARLIC BREAD

Preparation:

1. Mix all the ingredients and knead the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk and water until warm but not boiling. Sprinkle the dry yeast over the warm liquid and let it sit for a few minutes until it becomes foamy.

2. Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients: Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture. Add the softened butter. Mix everything together until a dough forms.

3. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour, but be careful not to add too much.

4. Let the dough rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Allow it to rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

5. Shape the dough into balls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.

6. Stuff the rolls: Take a small portion of cream cheese (about 1 tablespoon) and place it in the center of each dough ball. Press the dough around the cheese to seal it inside.

7. Let the rolls rest: Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rest for about 15 minutes to allow them to puff up slightly.

8. Preheat the oven and bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once the rolls have rested, bake them in the preheated oven for approximately 18 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.

9. Prepare the butter mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the ghee (clarified butter), olive oil, minced garlic, and dried basil.

10. Coat the rolls: Once the rolls are baked and still warm, brush the tops with the prepared butter mixture, ensuring each roll is well coated.

Your stuffed cheese rolls are now ready to be enjoyed! They can be served as a delicious side dish, appetizer, or snack. Best served warm.
